Accessibility statement

Last reviewed

We want anyone to be able to get a plastering quote from this site, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard only, magnification, or a phone on a poor connection.

What we aim for

WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not claiming full conformance, because that claim needs a formal audit we have not commissioned. What we can tell you is what has been built in deliberately and what has been checked.

What is built in

  • Every form field has a real, visible label. No placeholder-only fields anywhere.
  • The whole enquiry form can be completed with a keyboard.
  • Focus indicators are visible and high contrast — we have not removed browser outlines.
  • Errors appear next to the field they relate to, in words, and are announced to assistive technology.
  • Coverage feedback on the postcode field uses a live region so it is read out when it changes.
  • A skip link to the main content, as the first thing in the tab order.
  • Semantic headings in order, with one H1 per page.
  • Text contrast meets AA against every background used.
  • Nothing relies on colour alone to convey meaning.
  • Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion. No autoplay video, no carousel, no parallax.
  • The site works at 320px wide with no horizontal scrolling.
  • Text can be zoomed to 200% without content being lost.
  • Tap targets are at least 44px on mobile.
  • Decorative images use empty alt text; meaningful ones are described.

The form specifically

The enquiry form works without JavaScript. If the script fails to load or you have it turned off, every step is shown as a normal stacked form and it submits conventionally. You can still send an enquiry.

Photo upload is never mandatory. Photos genuinely help, and we say so, but the form can be completed and submitted with none attached. Nobody is locked out of the service for being unable to take or upload a photograph.

Answers are kept as you move through the steps, so going back or accidentally refreshing does not make you start again.

What we know is not perfect

  • HEIC photos from iPhones cannot be previewed as a thumbnail in most browsers, so they show as a filename instead. The upload itself works.
  • The site has not had a formal third-party accessibility audit or been tested with every combination of screen reader and browser.
  • Some longer guide pages have a lot of content between headings. We think the headings are good enough to navigate by, but tell us if they are not.

We would rather list these than claim a level of conformance we have not evidenced. That is the same principle applied everywhere else on this site.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this site stops you doing what you came to do, email hello@shropshireplasterquotes.co.uk and describe what happened and what you were using. We will fix what we can and tell you honestly if something will take a while.

If you cannot use the form for any reason, email quotes@shropshireplasterquotes.co.uk with a description of the job and your postcode, and we will handle it from there. That route is not a lesser service.
